Cookie policy
Revision of 7 October 2026
Cookies are small records a site stores in your browser and receives back with every request. Amortiva uses them for one thing: so the page arrives right the first time — with your sign-in, your theme and your saved calculations, with no flash and no re-render.
Every cookie below but one is strictly necessary for the site to work: they provide sign-in, protection against request forgery and a correct first paint, and need no consent. The exception is the visit statistics cookie amortiva_visitor: it appears only if you allowed statistics in the notice or with the switch below.
The cookies we use
| Name | Purpose | Lifetime | Access |
|---|---|---|---|
| amortiva_session | The sign-in session: keeps you in your account between requests. Set by the server on sign-in and invisible to any script on the page. | 2 days | server only |
| amortiva_csrf | Protection against request forgery (CSRF): confirms a change was sent from our site, not someone else’s. | 2 days | browser and server |
| amortiva_theme | Your chosen theme — the server sends the page already in it, with no flash of another palette. | 365 days | browser and server |
| amortiva_scheme | Your system’s light or dark scheme: the first visit cannot know it in advance, and every visit after arrives already correct. | 365 days | browser and server |
| amortiva_reports | The “has saved calculations” hint: it decides whether the home page opens as a catalog for a first-time visitor or as a dashboard for a returning one. | 14 days | browser and server |
| amortiva_summary | Your saved calculations reduced to figures: the server draws the dashboard cards immediately, without waiting for scripts. | 14 days | browser and server |
| amortiva_cookies | Your answer to the cookie notice: whether visit statistics are allowed. Yes, the cookie choice lives in a cookie itself — otherwise the notice would reappear on every visit. | 365 days | browser and server |
| amortiva_visitor | Visit statistics — only with your consent. A random browser number our server uses to tie your visits together: that is how we count unique visitors and see which pages matter. Set by the server, invisible to scripts, and deleted when you withdraw consent. | 365 days | server only |
The lifetime counts from your last visit: a cookie set for a year lives a year from each visit that refreshed it.
What we do not do
There are no advertising or third-party cookies on the site. We do not track you across sites and do not share data with ad platforms or outside analytics services: visit statistics are counted on our own server. Without your consent a visit is counted on its own — which pages were opened, on what device and from which country — with no cookie and no link to your other visits. We do not store your IP address in any case.
The figures you enter into the calculators are not stored in cookies: drafts live in your browser’s localStorage (as a guest) or in your account (once signed in), and never travel with network requests as cookies.
Which events we collect
Beyond the visit itself we count events: which page you opened and how long it stayed on screen, how far it was read, which buttons, links and tabs were pressed, and which blocks of the page reached the screen at all. This is what tells us what on the site is useful and what nobody finds. Events belong to the visit; they can be linked to your earlier visits only through the statistics cookie — and only with your consent.
The values you enter never make it into an event: amounts, terms, rates and every other figure from the calculators stay out. A click is recorded only as an element’s name — “the export button”, “a menu link” — and cannot say what you were calculating. Events are kept for 90 days, like the visits journal.
Visit statistics
You can allow or refuse the statistics cookie here at any time. The choice applies at once: if you withdraw consent, the server deletes the amortiva_visitor cookie the next time the page reaches it.
Managing cookies
You can inspect and delete cookies in your browser settings — usually under “Privacy” or “Site data”. Deleting Amortiva’s cookies ends your sign-in session and resets the chosen theme; your calculations are unaffected.
Saved calculations are deleted on the site itself, through the settings menu in the header. The cookies serving them — the reports hint and the dashboard summary — disappear with them.
Changes to this policy
The policy changes together with the product: no new cookie appears on the site before it is described here. The date of the current revision is at the top of the page.
